“My friend Brancusi, even you Volpi”. An unexpected mix of references led architect and designer Lia Siqueira to create the Volpi Bookcase, launched by ETEL in 2011.

The Endless Column sculptures of artist Constantin Brancusi were combined with the work of Italian-Brazilian painter Alfredo Volpi. So much inspiration resulted in a unique and unexpected piece.

LIA SIQUEIRA

Lia has received awards from the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB) in 1991, 1993, 1994, 2008 and 2011 and has received international awards from iF Design and Red Dot Design. Her work has also been acknowledged by Movesp and given the RiofazDesign seal.

Among the projects dearest to her are those that use wood as a raw material. “I like the smell of wood, I like to touch it. The relationship of man with this material fascinates me. Our intervention can turn wood into something completely different”.
