Handmade to order and part of the Fernando Mendes Atelier collection

Streamlined bench crafted from peroba timber, from sustainable sources or recycled wood. In true Brazilian wood artisan tradition, no glue or screws have been used to assemble the bench; instead a dovetail fitting and a trapezoidal wedge keep each of the feet firmly fixed to the frame.

Butterflies made from different species of wood reinforce the joints of the three pieces that make up the seat, which can measure up to 3 metres. The craftmanship and sustainability are hallmarks of the Fernando Mendes collection.

Brazilian design royalty; his cousin was Sergio Rodrigues, the ‘father’ of Brazilian design, and Fernando worked closely with Rodrigues for 7 years before starting his own collection.
