Designed by Zalszupin in the 1959, shows influence of the ideas and aesthetic of Italian/Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi. Like Bo Bardi, Zalszupin took inspiration for the Triangle Armchair from popular Brazilian culture and, specifically, from the hammock fastened to boats that navigated the São Francisco River. Made of iron, this piece also has details in wood, and a hanging seat made of saddle leather or suede.

JORGE ZALSZUPIN

1922 -2020

He studied during the war and, when he graduated, in 1945, he felt so disillusioned with the devastation he saw in his hometown that he decided he would leave to look for other lands. After a spell in France, he came to Brazil, where he encountered the right conditions to develop his unique, poetical, sensual and modern brand of architecture.

In the 1960s and 1970s, his work could be seen in pretty much every public building in Brasília. At the factory, a first-world structure mobilized designers, architects, engineers, craftsmen and a wide range of professionals who worked together through all stages, from the research of materials to the final product.
