Carlos Motta
Having completed his architectural studies in 1976, Carlos Motta moved to California where he spent 18 months studying wood working and iron work. He returned to Brazil in 1978 and opened Atelier Carlos Motta with a focus on the design of furniture, art objects and architecture.
Carlos Motta is a strong believer in sustainability, and prefers to use certified wood and to reuse other materials, such as iron.In 2012, ETEL launched the Atelier line, consisting of the reedition of thirteen pieces designed by Motta between 1970 and 2005. The chairs are considered icons of fine joinery, representative of his career as a designer.
