The S3 shelf system was designed in response to an inquiry from the Vatican. Designer Klemens Grund: “For me, a strong sense of clarity and structure are prerequisites for a good shelf system. I developed the system as a grid with vertical and horizontal lines. I wanted the wood to stand out in the horizontal dimension, to bring a sense of calm to the room”.

The shelf system has a nickname ‘the Pope’s shelf’ and can be extended almost indefinitely both in length and width. Module 1 (3 shelves) 30 x 100 x 75.Module 2 (5 shelves) 30 x 100 x 148. Module 3 (7 shelves) 30 x 100 x 200.

KLEMENS GRUND

Klemens Grund studied at the Academy of Crafts, Gut Rosenberg in Aachen and graduated in 2007. In 2014 he founded his own design studio in Cologne. Utility objects, products and architectural projects are his focus.

His work has been internationally awarded, exhibited and published.
