Architect-turned-carpenter Quentin Pigeat is inspired by the rich traditions of woodworking trades. His mission is to create objects that, through their silhouette, material, or meticulous details, reflect the care and intent of their designer or maker. L’Établissement offers a collection of unique, remarkable pieces that can be customized on request, alongside original creations tailored to bespoke needs.
Quentin Pigeat studied architecture at the prestigious National School of Architecture Paris La Villette, where he obtained a Master of Architecture degree with honour. Further study followed at Les Compagnons du Devoir, where he achieved a Vocational Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery. After a decade working with several prominent French architectural companies overseeing complex, high-constraint projects such as renovations of the Cité de Refuge (Le Corbusier), the Amiraux swimming pool (Henri Sauvage), and the restructuring of the Carnavalet Museum; in 2022 Quentin created L’Etablissement in the Parisian creative hub of La Courneuve.
His unique aesthetic comes from his eclectic mix of design heroes, ranging from Pierre Chapo, Charlotte Perriand, George Nakashima and the Memphis movement. Quentin’s designs are refined and intentional with pure, geometric lines, while maintaining a soft aesthetic through harmonious curves. His work manifests the balance between highly sophisticated joinery and clean, minimalist forms.
“Respect raw materials, their nature and imperfections. Combine them in their simplest form. Assemble them thoughtfully to craft timeless objects and spaces.”
