Tecta is committed to refining and further developing classic design and the K Oblique range is testament to their quest for perfection, incorporating technology, innovation and production sustainability that wasn’t available in the Bauhaus era.In the 1970s Tecta collaborated with Bauhaus luminaries Mart Stam and Marcel Breuer and celebrated French architect and designer Jean Prouvé, to refine and further develop the Bauhaus tubular steel cantilever chair.
The result led to Tecta patenting Jean Prouvé’s concept of ‘tube aplati’, a process of flattened steel tubing for increased stability and a streamlined, elegant design. In 2005 Tecta developed this concept further by adding ’tube oblique’ curves to further strengthen the frame and accentuate the design aesthetic.
The oblique framing is now incorporated in a range of updated classics, including this updated classic desk with fabric or leather lined drawer and Tecta’s smooth precision mechanism. Available in a variety of colours and finishes. The K3CR desk trolley is also available as an optional extra.
