Handmade to order and part of the Fernando Mendes Atelier collection

A testament to sustainability and good design; originally created on request from a client for a stool so their 4 year old son was able to reach shelves in his bookcase. Compact, strong and easy to handle. Initial models were crafted from teak, however over time pieces of unused wood accumulating in the workshop were used, ensuring valuable timber wasn’t discarded.

The craftmanship and sustainability are hallmarks of the Fernando Mendes collection.

With degrees in Industrial Design and Architecture, his inspirational, contemporary furniture collection exemplifies exquisite craftsmanship and a love of wood.

Brazilian design royalty; his cousin was Sergio Rodrigues, the ‘father’ of Brazilian design, and Fernando worked closely with Rodrigues for 7 years before starting his own collection.
