This cantilever armchair, based on a design by Anton Lorenz in the 1930s, is an elegant and comfortable seat that allows the sitter to move from the upright position to the relaxed lying position by moving and shifting their body.

The hand-woven seat and frame can be coordinated in different materials and colour combinations. Available also with foot rest (C35i).

ANTON LORENZ

1861-1964

Anton Lorenz played a key role in making tubular steel furniture accessible to an ever-growing consumer market, working with several prominent manufacturers, including Standard Möbel, Desta and Thonet. He begun to explore ergonomic aspects of seating and reclining furniture in the late 1920s, became skilful at procuring patents and founding businesses and gained a reputation as the key influence in the world-wide popularity of tubular steel furniture, via a global network of enterprises and contacts.

In 1939, he emigrated to the United States and established a new furniture genre that proved very successful; the adjustable recliner, which still occupies a central place in many of today’s living rooms.
