C-7190 is a rattan version of the Tsutomu’s famous “Takagu sofa” that won a bronze medal at the 1996 Asahikawa International Furniture Competition.

The armchair features a beautiful high privacy screen backrest. Made from durable, round rattan, the chair has subtle curves that can only be achieved using traditional time honoured techniques by hand.

The cushion seat and optional 3 back cushions are available in fabric or leather. The rattan is also available in a variety of coloured finishes.


Tsutomu Imazaki Mama Casa

TSUTOMU IMAZAKI
(1937 - 2023)

One of the leading Japanese modernist designers, he was instrumental in the success of several Japanese furniture companies.

Between 1962-65 he was the first to win gold and silver prizes for 4 consecutive years at Kosuga design competitions.

In 1996 he won a bronze prize at International Furniture Design Fair Asahikawa for his C-7190 as rattan sofa.
