Designed to be secured to a wall, the solid and rigid drawer has a copper or brass-plated handle and a leather strip, in combinations selected by Susana herself. The colours are the highlight of the pieces, giving each an authentic look.

Siblings Susana Bastos and Marcelo Alvarenga have been in touch with design since childhood; their grandfather, João Alvarenga, would create many of the objects they used in their daily lives. In 2012, the duo combined their creative powers to start Alva Design. 

Susana straddles fashion, art and design. Her work has been shown at the Celma Albuquerque gallery in  Belo Horizonte, and at the Emma Thomas gallery in São Paulo. 

Marcelo has an Architecture and Urbanism degree and was a protégé of Freusa Zechmeister and Isay Weinfeld, before he opened his own office in 2008.
