A small drawer is balanced on a metal tripod. The highlight of this piece is in the chamois leather strip, in colours selected by Susana herself. The handle can be of brass or copper.

SUSANA B. MARCELO A.

Siblings Susana Bastos and Marcelo Alvarenga have been in touch with design since childhood; their grandfather, João Alvarenga, would create many of the objects they used in their daily lives. In 2012, the duo combined their creative powers to start Alva Design. 

Susana straddles fashion, art and design. Her work has been shown at the Celma Albuquerque gallery in  Belo Horizonte, and at the Emma Thomas gallery in São Paulo. 

Marcelo has an Architecture and Urbanism degree and was a protégé of Freusa Zechmeister and Isay Weinfeld, before he opened his own office in 2008.
