The piece features three drawers supported by a metal tripod. The solid, rigid, geometric wood is adorned with strips of chamois leather that are attached to a delicate metal support.

The colours of the leather, picked by Susana, are the highlight of the Alva Collection.

SUSANA B. MARCELO A.

Siblings Susana Bastos and Marcelo Alvarenga have been in touch with design since childhood; their grandfather, João Alvarenga, would create many of the objects they used in their daily lives. In 2012, the duo combined their creative powers to start Alva Design. 

Susana straddles fashion, art and design. Her work has been shown at the Celma Albuquerque gallery in  Belo Horizonte, and at the Emma Thomas gallery in São Paulo. 

Marcelo has an Architecture and Urbanism degree and was a protégé of Freusa Zechmeister and Isay Weinfeld, before he opened his own office in 2008.
